7th Pay Commission Latest News

According to recommendations by the Indian Labor Ministry, the 7th pay commission should fix the minimum pay for central government employees at Rs 15,000 per month. However, if inflation is factored into the equation, the increase should be from Rs 7100 to Rs 30,000. The total amount will comprise rent allowance; education allowance and transport allowance, among others benefits, and should be around Rs 45,000.

The Fourteenth Finance Commission has been asked by a pay panel to link pay hike for employees with productivity. This suggestion was earlier rejected by the panel formed for the 6th pay commission. However, it is left to be seen if this suggestion will be enforced this time around. One will have to wait for the report in October, 2015 to find out more, till then latest pay commission news should suffice.
