This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Viewer for APOD on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.

Superb app! Does exactly what it should. Best thing is it downloads HD APOD images. A kind feature request: Please keep an option to select in which folder would like to save the HD images. Alternatively, you could create a separate folder named say, APOD, for the app to save downloaded photos, that way all APoD images would be in one place.

Please add wallpaper option for mobile dev. You could be really having a lot of users with this app with a few little improvements and upgrades.

Works pretty well. But it doesn't support 2-finger rotation of the images, and uses unnecessary storage permissions.
