Muammar Zainal Asykin lahir 14 Juni 1954 biasa disingkat Muammar ZA. Beliau adalah seorang Qari' senior dan Hafiz dari Indonesia yang dikenal secara nasional maupun internasional. Beliau pemenang lomba pembacaan Qur'an yang dikenal dengan "Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran" ("MTQ") pada tahun 1980an di Indonesia maupun di luar negeri. Bakatnya sudah terlihat sejak kecil pada saat mengikuti lomba membaca Quran di Pemalang pada tahun 1962 mendapat juara di umur 7 tahun. H. Muammar, dikenal secara internasional dengan kemampuan nafas panjangnya. Dengan suara merdunya ketika melantunkan ayat - ayat Alqur'an menjadikan H. Muammar ZA sangat dinanti dan ditunggu oleh banyak khalayak dan menjadi inspirasi dalam keseharian khususnya dalam belajar metode tilawah.
