The serial happens at the Gokuldham Co-operative Housing Society, a residential apartment in Powder Gali, Goregaon East, Mumbai around Gada Family which comprises of an effective business man Jethalal Champaklal Gada, his dad Champaklal Jayantilal Gada, his better half Daya and their insidious child Tipendra Tapu Gada who leads his friends circle called "Tapu Sena."

At the outset, Jethalal alongside his better half Daya and child Tapu lives in Gokuldham Society. Getting exhausted of consistently hearing the grumblings of the general public individuals about the hazard made by his child, Jethalal chooses to call his dad Champaklal to watch out for Tapu, yet the inverse occurs, and he holds hands with Tapu. The vast majority of the scenes depend on Jethalal being stuck in an issue, and Taarak Mehta, his closest companion whom he calls his "Fire Brigade" causes him out of it.

The show covers effective issues that are socially pertinent. The inhabitants of Gokuldham face day by day life issues and discover answers for it yet with a virtue in a humorous way. They generally help each other in their issues, to advance Unity in Diversity.
