I became interested in ancient philosophy by starting with Stoicism then realising I needed to work forward to it from Thales of Miletus to understand how it was grounded. This app is intuitive to use and gives historical context as well as plenty of sound bite quotes that you can share to social media should you wish to appear wise or enlightened. In which case, it is worth remembering that Socrates claimed to know nothing.

This is a decent beginning app, though some full-texts would be nice. It also seems to have a bias against including some Christian philosophers and so is not quite a complete picture of the full Greek tradition. Pretty good so far otherwise. God bless them and their efforts in bringing unappreciated wisdom to modern eyes. Amen.

there's quite a sizeable list of ancient philosophers along an extensive timeline. the quotes are original translations from original texts. it's a great source of daily inspiration coupled with some historical element.
