I cant believe so much is invested in hiring narrators for articles with such terrible infrastructure on the app to play them. I want to 1. Use 10 sec +- in the notification menu controls 2. Play wordle etc without the audio box in the way 3. Have listening progress saved without manually finding the article and hitting play from the beginning 4. Set up a playlist to listen to. I have an account because I got a deal... I'd consider keeping up the subscription if you made it easier to listen

A well designed app, generally works without any glitches. Sometimes graphics will glitch occasionally, but I've noticed it less and less in the past year or so. Times journalism is also very high quality. Almost always at the forefront of important and breaking news. Of course, always be aware of bias and double check stories across multiple sources for the fullest picture.

No way to save articles for offline reading, the only option is downloading the daily paper. In general poor management for any use case besides reading the daily paper, browsers might be boring but they actually have essential features... App occasionally randomly crashes, but fairly stable. Back when there wasn't even a view history, app crashes were a bigger deal because you couldn't even find recently viewed articles, just an example of the consequences of developing for one use case.

Buggy with poor design. It works but only basically. Articles with video or interactive graphics frequently don't load or don't work properly. Swiping through image sets is difficult as there is no positive stop at each image. You have to very carefully slide to the next image or it just whips through four or five. Articles are frequently jumpy, especially if there are interactive graphics. The games have different menu designs and different behaviors when using navigation.

Great news content, but some app glitches. The biggest issue for me is that I cannot get any videos to play (videos that appear in articles on the app, or by themselves on the app feed). I click the video, and the screen just shows a black, blank box where the video should be. If this annoying glitch were fixed, I'd definitely say it is a 5-star app - but until then, I'm knocking 2 stars off.

clean running program, minimally intrusive, the splitting of sections into independent apps, works for the most part, but is ill designed at conserving functional interfaces between apps I really hope the Times, and all other traditional news media hang on in an era of blatant lies, propaganda wars, and nonsense. oh, and a direct letter to the editor/paper tab or drop-down would be spiffy
