About this app

Jovan Dučić je rođen 1871. godine u Trebinju. U Mostaru je pohađao trgovačku a u Sarajevu Učiteljsku školu. Učiteljevao je kratko vreme po raznim mestima. Studirao je u Ženevi, a u Srbiju se vraća 1909. godine. Prvu zbirku pesama objavio je u Mostaru 1901. godine, drugu u Beogradu 1908. u izdanju Srpske književne zadruge, kao i dve knjige u sopstvenom izdanju, stihovi i pesme u prozi – Plave legende i Pesme. Pisao je dosta i u prozi: nekoliko literarnih eseja i studija o piscima, Blago cara Radovana i pesnička pisma iz Švajcarske, Grčke, Španije itd.
Kao i Šantić, Dučić je u početku svoga pesničkog stvaranja bio pod uticajem Vojislava Ilića; ali kad je otišao na stranu, on se toga uticaja sasvim oslobodio i izgradio svoju individualnu liriku prema uzorima francuskih parnasovaca, dekadenata i naročito simbolista. Dučić otkriva sasvim nove, dotle neslućene motive u našoj poeziji, retka osećanja, bizarna, prefinjena. Čak i lična raspoloženja, svoju erotiku na primer, on neće reći jednostavno niti će dozvoliti da izgleda obična. Naći najsavršeniji izražaj, to je vrhovno načelo njegove poezije. On je odista nadmašio sve što je do njega stvarano u našoj lirici. Njegova poezija, otmena, diskretna i ljupka, blješti slikovitošću i melodičnim ritmom.
