Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing MUnchMates on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

I love the idea of this app, but I think there's significant room for improvement. I think having a bio section for profiles would be a big step, and help others find someone they want to talk to. I also have issues uploading a profile picture, and haven't been able to make that work yet. There are other small things like the speed and such, but these are minor.

Getting involved at Marquette University has never been easier: with Guest Swipes! Search for a MUnchMate and invite them to a meal! Students, Faculty, Staff, and Jesuits are all invited to the table to create a more engaged and welcoming campus climate.

We believe in both food and people, especially when they are brought together. And MUnchMates does just that with Guest Swipes. Marquette’s Anytime Meal Dining Plan provides 15 Guest Swipes per semester to its students. We aim to let those tools craft relationships across Marquette’s Campus between students, faculty, staff, and Jesuits. We are a Guest Swipe Sharing System.

Use one of your 15 semester Guest Swipes to get connected. The MUnchMates app makes it easy for you to find other students involved in campus clubs and organizations of your interest. You can use the in-app messaging service to invite a MUnchMate to a meal.

Already involved on campus? Not on the Anytime Dining Meal Plan? Looking for a Meal? Or just looking to meet a new face on campus?

Perfect. MUnchMates can connect you with other students on campus, some of whom may have Guest Swipes to share with you.

This app is for Faculty, Staff, and Jesuits too! All you need to register is a verified @marquette.edu or @mu.edu email account. We know that Marquette is comprised of more than just students and each member adds value to the whole.

So students, go out and Guest Swipe your favorite professor or meet with one of the Jesuits on campus. MUnchMates serves to facilitate all sorts of campus interpersonal interactions.

Once registered on the app, you can build your own profile by listing your MateType (position on campus), affiliated college, all your campus clubs / organizations, and don’t forget that favorite headshot of yours.

Then let the searching begin!

Filter other users by club / organization, college, MateType, or whether they have a Meal Plan or not. Those with an “M” by their name have the Anytime Dining Meal Plan.

Sort and choose from the list of potential MUnchMates. Send them a message and get connected!

First full public release of MUnchMates for Android! We've been hard at work porting the app to Android and it even includes some (temporary) bonus features including notifications and home city/state search!
