I had a problem connecting the demo app until I guessed it was a firewall issue in windows 10. Allow the exes for both calibre and calibre-server access via firewall and it worked immediately. (It may only need the calibre-server.exe so try that first)

I love the idea of this app but I cannot connect my university onedrive account where my calibre library is stored. I have looked all over the internet and cannot find an answer for this as it seems the devs do not respond. Please can you advise how to fix this or if it will ever be possible. I was going to buy the full version but not if it does not work with my onedrive account

Terrible support. I contacted the developer multiple times as I cannot get it to connect to my library in DropBox, but there was no response. Obviously not buying the paid version! I just bought Calibre Sync - it works perfectly!!

Skip the demo and buy premium app. I didn't buy in play store but did in apple store for my iPad. The dev for this app is a genuis. It is as simple as open wireless connect setting on PC calibre, hit connect on your device and it's set. Books transfer quickly. I've never had even a glitch. Flawless. My brain is the only issue...if I forget to delete epub after convert mobi, both transfer to my iPad. I can't get it to let me pick format after so I redo it & del epb 1st. I only read via Kindle app

Great work around so I can use my Calibre library and read newspapers on my Android tablet.

Can't get devices to connect through Windows 10, carried out all the fixes via the help file to no avail. Seems to be a rather complicated process for Calibre when all my other apps connect with very little effort. Reluctantly giving up.

About this app

The full version of Calibre Companion (CC) has a rating of 4.6 with more than 2000 4- and 5-star reviews. This free version of CC is fully functional, but limited to 20 books on your device. Upgrade to the full version to remove the limit.

CC, recommended by calibre developers, is three applications in one:
- a superb device-based calibre library organizer
- a high-performance WiFi-based calibre device emulator
- a calibre content server and cloud provider (Dropbox, Box, Microsoft OneDrive, and Amazon Cloud Drive) client

1) CC is a device-based calibre library organizer. Once you put books on your device using one of the connection methods described below you can:
- view a book's metadata (author, tags, series, rating, dates, etc.).
- sort and group books by their metadata.
- see book lists by cover or by list.
- mark books read and sync this information with calibre.
- launch your book reader application to read a book (works with most reader applications except for Amazon Kindle for Android on non-Fire devices).

2) CC can connect to calibre over WiFi and be detected by calibre as a device. Once connected, you use calibre to move books to and from your device. Calibre automatically updates all the book metadata stored by CC to match the latest in your library.

3) CC can connect to calibre’s content server or to your cloud provider to browse your library and download books to your device. Cloud providers currently supported: Dropbox, Box, and Microsoft OneDrive.

For more information see our FAQ (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=188899)

Notes:
1) CC is not a reader app. You must install and use one of the many excellent reader apps available.
2) CC requires that you use calibre calibre 0.9.02 or later, available at http://calibre-ebook.com/. Some CC features such as syncing book read information require newer versions of calibre.

The full version of CC is available at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.multipie.calibreandroid
****
Permissions explanation:
- Allow Wi-Fi multicast reception: multicast is required to be able to find calibre without requiring you to enter an IP address.
- Users with Jellybean (Android 4.1): You will also see a permission about “Test access to protected storage”. This is caused by a change Android is making regarding SD card access, and simply means our app can save books on your external storage.
