About this app

Having realized that Busoga region didn’t have reliable and effective radio broadcasting in English, it was therefore decided to start up an Fm station to address this problem. The Radio covers districts in Busoga region like Jinja, Iganga, Kamuli, Mayuge, Kaliro, Buyende, Luuka, Namutumba, Namayingo, Bugiri, parts Buganda like Mukono, Buikwe and Kayunga, then far eastern like Tororo and Palisa.
A certain category of listeners mainly the English speaking community and the urban dwellers in these districts had not been catered for by every known radio station. The station started broadcasting programs officially on 1st December 2008, broadcasting on a 3KW transmitter.

89 Smart FM envisions a community of listeners who, guided by example of quality programming, work together to create better, more just and sustainable world systems to ensure that all human and other living species on earth move toward higher quality of life and are able to survive the challenges in the times ahead.
