About this app

Kitab Al-Hikam adalah buah karya Syekh Ibnu Atha'illah, mursyid ketiga dari Thariqah Syadziliyah. Adapun pendiri pertama Syadziliyah adalah Syekh Abu Hasan Ali Asy-Syadzili, seorang Maroko yang kemudian menetap di Iskandariah, Mesir dan wafat pada 1258 M. Penggantinya adalah Syekh Abu Abbas Al-Mursi, yang berasal dari Murcia, Andalusia, Spanyol (wafat di tahun 1287 M), yang sepeninggalnya dilanjutkan oleh Syekh Ibnu Atha'illah.

Syekh Ibnu Atha'illah hidup di Mesir di masa kekuasaan Dinasti Mamluk. Beliau lahir di kota Alexandria (Iskandariyah), Mesir, lalu pindah ke Kairo. Di kota inilah beliau menghabiskan hidupnya dengan mengajar Fikih Mazhab Imam Maliki di berbagai lembaga intelektual.

Ibn Atha'illah tergolong ulama yang produktif. Tak kurang dari 20 karya yang pernah dihasilkannya. Karya itu meliputi bidang tasawuf, tafsir, akidah, hadits, nahwu, dan ushul fiqh. Dari beberapa karyanya itu yang paling terkenal adalah Kitab Al-Hikam yang disebut-sebut sebagai magnum opus beliau.

Al-Hikam adalah sebuah kitab yang diperuntukkan bagi para pejalan (salik), yang di dalamnya berisi panduan lanjut bagi setiap pejalan untuk menempuh perjalanan spiritual. Al-Hikam berisi berbagai terminologi suluk yang ketat, yang merujuk pada berbagai istilah dalam Al-Qur'an.
