Great video player, terrible app... The video player itself is great, i love the gestures and control you have, along with the different options. But no Xiaomi, I don't want a random YouTube like welcome page, I wouldn't mind the ads if they weren't in the middle of the screen in the video player when I pause a video... At least let me change the welcome page...

Why the local video player have ads? This is the first time I've seen a local phone app bloated with ads like this. They even add useless features like online content that cannot be disabled permanently. So if anybody need a video player, find something else. Not this junk. They won't bother removing the app. This probably my last Xiaomi/Redmi phone. The phone itself is a bloatware

Xiaomi, I'm still waiting for you to fix the bug that causes the app to automatically disable itself whenever the device is rebooted. And also why enabling it can only be possible through Play Store. It's been several months now. Updates are constantly being released but still no fix. C'mon guys, get to work. Enough with the it varies from device to device excuse. You seem to know what the cause is so what's the hold up or delay?

The app is great, the best video player UI I've ever used 👍. But: 1- Some tims the user wants to drag down the (notification/control panel) to check notification or enable or disable Wi-Fi or Hotspot...Etc so at least disable brightness and volume sliders on some areas. 2- I don't like the new online feature at least add a swetch off button.

The video player came preinstalled with my Xiaomi phone and works for most videos. I still need to open up some videos with VLC media player, when the volume of the video is very low - so that I can increase the volume beyond 100% to maybe 200% of the original volume level. This isn't a Mi Video player issue, but it is an issue with my source videos. The extra inconvenient step of choosing an alternative video player can be avoided if I could increase the volume level beyond 100%.

I like the app, BUT, as soon as you press pause, advertisements are shown and you cannot remove the ad. That is terrible, TERRIBLE! One would think that if one already payed for the phone and uses the default app, that one wouldn't have to see ad's. Rather use Samsung's video player. One star for that.
