Great App for those who are learning Pedal Steel and Lap Steel Guitar, and to all who wish to increase your knowledge and skills on the Pedal Steel and Lap Steel. It's easy to setup your instrument within the App, and it's extremely helpful. My compliments to Mike for creating a powerful learning App.

Brilliant unique app, I'd hate to be learning without it. The developer is helpful and responsive. The new addition of 6 and 8 string lap steel templates adds a really valuable new dimension.

This is a great app for learning the pedal steel or for anyone to find new chords, analyze fretboard intervals, etc. Pedal steelers, and now dobro and lapsteel players can benefit from this great app. Download and purchase!

This is truly a great app. It has too many features to mention in a short review. One of my personal favorites is the ability to click on notes in the copedent chart and hear how they sound together. So even while I'm away from my guitar I can listen to different combinations of changes. A nice touch. Definitely a worthwhile download.

I have searched for an answer to my problem, no luck. So no chance of a review just yet. The app opens but does not allow me to set up my guitar. It just says go to the menu which does not open.

Learning the PSG just became easier, I hunted for just such an application after having my eyes glaze over with the various descriptions of sharps and flats. Thanks so Much Mike. Now I just need a windows version!

About this app

Pedal Steel is a pedal steel fretboard analysis tool. First create custom copedents to match your pedal steel guitar. Then use the analysis tools and training tools to gain insight into the fretboard.

The Analysis tool allows you to select a key, fret and active changers. You can then view and hear all of the basic chord voicings for the selected key. The analysis diagram is interactive allowing you to turn changers on and off to quickly see the effect of each changer.

The Chord Finder tool allows you to select a key, a root note and a chord type and gives you a list of chord voicing options for how the chord can be played. Click a chord voicing option to view and hear the chord voicing.

The Copedent tool allows you to view a copedent diagram. You can also edit your changes directly from the diagram.

Images can be saved to the gallery for future reference.

The training tools include Copedent Basics, Identify Note, Identify Interval and Identify Audio Interval. These tools can help you learn your fretboard.

The training tools include options to let you target specific areas. You can exclude strings, frets and changers. For example, a beginner that wants to learn the open string notes would exclude all frets except 0 and exclude all changers. Once the beginner knows all of the open strings they can include some changers and learn which changers change which strings and by how much.
