I think this is a good addition. I get why one reviewer said it detracts from the live experience, but I found it useful for being able to take the story of the house with you. If you don't have it you can spend hours reading material in the house instead of pushing buttons and exploring. Like another user, I'm unable to unlock charter mode because it does nothing on the "move your device around to find a flat surface..." I do that and tap, but nothing happens.

Had fun scanning all of the lights and watching the animations at the exhibit. Can't get the charter mode to work on either my phone or my husband's, though. When we point the camera at a flat surface and tap the screen, nothing happens. This is a bummer because we'd really like to look at the other documents and videos.

I had no issues using the app itself. The reason for my review is that the app doesn't add to the exhibit experience. It really ultimately detracts from it, by letting you short circuit the search for artifacts by reading them on your phone. I wish the app had more onboarding to tell me how to use it with the exhibit, and that it was ultimately more involved than just pointing your camera at a glowing icon.

I love the idea of getting more information on the story of the family, and what happened to them, however the app is so glitchy. The charter mode doesn't work at all (put it on a flat surface, but it never does anything) and the videos unlocked from the house won't play correctly. This needs to work far better for the money they are charging.

The Android app has a lot of glitches that the iOS app doesn't, despite the recent update. Half the anomalies wouldn't play on my phone (Moto G5 Plus, Nougat) no matter at what angle I held my phone or how much light I threw onto the object I was scanning... but they worked instantly on my mum's iPhone X, no funky angles or camera lights required on her part. This was my fourth time at Meow Wolf and I've never had issues there before. | Also worth mentioning that there are no anomalies in the rest of the exhibit outside the Selig house proper. Both my mum and I were confused for a bit about why we weren't seeing objects to scan in, say, the cartoon room or the mammoth cave, and the app description does not mention this.

Amazing GUI and really helps in the experience. I found 80% of the clues in each room but this app is almost cheating as it guides you directly to it, lol. However, horribly glitchy on Android devices. I will simply refund my purchase here and repurchase on my friend's iPhone/pay them since the reviews note that it works better on iOS. Great direction. It just needs a lot more work when it comes to Android. For this reason, I will only give 3 stars. I wish I could enjoy it on my own phone.
