While this app enables some basic remote capabilities for controlling the GPMDP on Microsoft Windows, it's basically a 'skip track' function. Like songs/tracks? No. Add 'Play next'? No. Add to queue? No. If you've previously used Spotify Premium with all its remote control capabilities, this is laughable. Before you start berating me that this is all the fault of Google for not releasing a proper API, I know. The problem I have with this app stems from the fact that this is not advertised anywhere. You go in blind, struggle through one of the most painful setup processes I've endured during the past 10 years, only to be greeted by an app unfit for 2020. Greatly disappointed. But I love the Desktop player, so two stars for effort.

I can't seem to connect to it and I followed the steps it says on my pc. Did I miss something? When I open this app it just says check your network and when I go to it's settings where it shows devices it just keeps scanning forever and doesn't pick up anything lol. Love the app on the pc though pretty good. Just wish I could use my cell to change tracks when i'm not close by.

This app needs "Now playing" function. I wanna see what's in queue in the playlist. When I play songs from search, do I start artist radio, song radio or just one track? I don't know. It's better than no remote, kinda needs few core functions added, though. Hence 4 stars.

I don't know for others but on my Redmi 4x this app sucks very bad. It's only good for controlling music that's already playing from desktop version, like pause, play, skip.. You can search your library only song by song sorted letter by letter, who needs that?? But even that's not working for some reason, any song I select, it won't play..

This is more or less just a proof of concept. Because gmusic doesn't have an API to speak of, this app has very little utility. Same goes for GPMDP itself unfortunately. No disrespect to the author - Google just needs to pull their heads out and open up an API so we can create awesome alternatives to their mediocre official players.

It works, but it's rather limited, and there's weird technical issues with getting it linked and being able to see your playlists that requires some googling to figure out. However, it's currently the only way to control gpMusic from your phone and have it play over your computer.
