رواية مروان هي رواية اجتماعية حقيقية لشاب جزائري من العاصمة، حسين داي بالتحديد. تدور أحداث القصة حول حياة الطالب الجامعي الجزائري على وجه الخصوص حيث تنطلق الرواية عند ما بلغ مروان سن الـ 18 سنة، كيفية دخوله الجامعة ومعاناته من الفقر والحرمان دفعته إلى العمل في كشك بعد نهاية الدوام إلى أن تخرج مروان من الجامعة، لنتحدث عن مرحلة ما بعد التخرج من الجامعة وكيف عانى مروان من أجل البحث عن عمل للعيش، حتى بلغه ذات يوم اتصال من والده يخبره بفقدان أمه، بعد أن توسط له أحد الجيران وجد عملا في شركة ما، بأجر لا بأس به، كان يعيل والده المتقاعد الذي بدأ يفقد صحته شيئا فشيئا حتى أقعد في المستشفى وبعد صراع مع المرض ذهب إلى جوار ربه، وظل مروان وحيدا بدأ طريق المخدرات لينسى همومه التي كانت تزداد شيئا فشيئا، حتى جاءته ورقة طلب منه إخلاء المنزل بطلب من عمه الذي كسب معركته ضده في القضاء وأنصفه بسبب دين سابق لأبيه، ازدادت وتيرة مخدرات الابن وطرد من العمل وبقي بلا مأوى ولا عمل فاعتدى على عمه ودخل السجن.....
