Sheikh Mishary bin Rashid Al-Afasy Mishary Rashid Ghareeb atau Mohammed Rashed Al-Afasy lahir di Kuwait pada 5 September 1976 (Minggu 11 Ramadhan 1396 H).
Beliau belajar Quran di College of the Holly Quran dan Studi Islam di Universitas Islam Madinah (Kerajaan Arab Saudi), dalam spesialisasi sepuluh bacaan dan terjemahan Al-Qur'an.
Beliau telah belajar qiro'ah Quran kepada Sheikh Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Zaiat, Syekh Ibrahim Ali Shahata Al-Samanodei, dan Cheikh Abdurarea Radwan.
Beliau telah disertifikasi oleh sejumlah ulama Quran. Beliau sering tampil di acara televisi dan banyak rekaman di YouTube.
Sheikh Mishary Al-Afasy adalah Imam Masjid Al-Kabir (Grand Masjid) di Kuwait City, dan setiap Ramadhan ia menjadi imam Sholat Tarawih di Masjid ini.
