চরকালিয়া উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় চাঁদপুর জেলার বর্তমান মতলব উত্তর উপজেলার অধীন ১২ নং ফরাজীকান্দি ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ এলাকায় অবস্থিত । আজ থেকে ১০০ শত বছর পূর্বে ১৯২১ সালে এর জন্ম । এই স্কুলের সুনির্দিষ্ট কোনো প্রতিষ্ঠাতার নাম এখনো জানা যায়নি । তবে তা খুঁজে বের করার চেষ্টা অব্যাহত আছে । "গৌরাঙ্গ বাজার মধ্য ইংরেজি স্কুল" নাম যাত্রা শুরু করলেও কালের বিবর্তনে তা এখন "চরকালিয়া উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়" নামেই সুপ্রতিষ্ঠ । ইতিহাস থেকে জানা যায় যে, বর্তমান কুমিল্লা বোর্ডের অধীনে এই স্কুল থেকে ১৯৫৪ ইং সালে প্রথম এস. এস. সি পরীক্ষায় অংশগগ্রহন করে । অত্র অঞ্চলের শ্রেষ্ট এই স্কুলটি প্রতিষ্ঠিত হওয়ার পর থেকে মানুষ গড়ার কারিগর হিসেবে জন্ম থেকে আজ অবধি কাজ করে যাচ্ছে । ইতিহাস ও ঐতিহ্যের ধারক ও বাহক হিসেবে বিগত ১০০ (একশত) বছর যাবৎ এই স্কুলটি সমাজে অগণিত কীর্তিমান সন্তান গঠনে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে যাচ্ছে । উল্লেক্ষ, এই স্কুলটির প্রথম প্রধান শিক্ষক ছিলেন মরহুম ইয়াকুব আলী বি.এ. । অত্র বিদ্যালয়ের কীর্তিমান ছাত্র ছাত্রীরা সবাই মিলে ঐক্যবদ্ধ প্রচেষ্টায় স্কুলের ১০০ বছর পূর্তি উপলক্ষে প্রথম পুনর্মিলনী সফলভাবে আয়োজন করার লক্ষে খুব শীঘ্রই প্রাক্তন ছাত্র ছাত্রীদের সমন্বয়ে "এলামনাই এসোসিয়েশন" গঠন করবে । সবার স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত অংশগ্রহণ একান্ত কাম্য । বিদ্যালয়ের ইতিহাস সংগ্রহে দিন রাত কাজ করে যাচ্ছে অনেকে । পরবর্তীতে আরো বিস্তারিত দেখতে পাবেন সবাই ।
