About Ganesh Chaturthi :

Ganesh Chaturthi is also known as Vinayaka Chavithi or Vinayaka Chaturthi as well. It is the Hindu festival that worships god Ganesha. Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day festival, which starts on the fourth day of Hindu lunisolar calendar month Bhadrapada. As per the Gregorian calendar, it falls in August or September month. The festival is marked with the sthapana (installation) of Ganesha clay idols privately in publicly on elaborate pandals or homes. The Ganesh puja includes chanting of Vedic hymns and Hindu texts such as Ganesh Vandana, Ganesha Mantra, Ganapati Upanishad, prayers, Ganesh strotra, Ganesh bhajans, and fast. After the prayer complete, people chant Ganpati Bappa Moriya and at last offer prasadam from the daily prayers. The prasadam among people include sweets such as Bundi or modaka.
