As I was preparing notes for a teaching on the power of a love partner, I received this news alert from a Nigerian news desk, about Mr. “A”, husband of professor 'B', HOD of Religious Studies Department of one of our prestigious Universities, who committed suicide by hanging. And almost at the same time, another news alert landed on my phone, “Inspector of Police sets own wife ablaze; arrested and released after few hours”.

Another one, Ok! “Wife seeks for divorce, over lack of soap and detergents” Check this out, “Prostitute's death 'on duty' lands client in hot waters, court rules he must live with HIV wife''. “Woman seeks divorce, claims newly wed hobby isn't as sexually good as thought” (ibid.) Finally for now from the Nigerian news desk, “Maryam Ahmed (16) approached court to divorce her husband, Sanusi Idris (27), due to lack of interest in him after 30 days of marriage”.

The list can continue, but for space and brevity. Many are shedding tears today because of a wrong choice of love mate. Some have been raped due to undue friendship and intimacy with an opposite sex. Some precious lives have been ruined and ripped of their future and some are regretting the day they met with their love or life partners. Some have been killed and some have killed themselves just because they “fell in love” and never “entered into” it. Some, even as I write now, are in Hell here on Earth and some are in Hell fire for ever without parole, just because of a minute's wrong decision in this meant to be sweat and pleasurable all-important affair, I mean love affair. If you will however, play according to the rules of engagement of the art of love, you will surely not regret in Jesus name.

Your love mate can actually determine whether you live in Heaven or in hell on earth or beyond the grave and that is the power of a love mate, brother! Your love mate can either make or mar you for life and, of course, for eternity. The examples we stated above are indeed horrible, fearful and scary, but it would not have been that way for each and every one of them, if they had had this kind of opportunity you have in reading this material at any junction of their life. They could have learnt a secret that would have stopped them from shedding tears, having regrets, having love failure and experiencing destiny disruption.

It is important to let you know that marriage and love affair could really be tasking, although it was meant to be hilarious, sweet, warming, healing, comforting and helping. It was actually meant to wade off and wipe away tears, torment, thorns and thistles of life.
