মধ্য-শাবান হচ্ছে আরবী শা’বান মাসের ১৫ তারিখ, যা উপমহাদেশের মুসলমানদের মধ্যে শবে বরাত বা শব-ই-বরাত নামে পালিত একটি পূণ্যময় রাত। বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন স্থানের মুসলমানগণ বিভিন্ন কারণে এটি পালন করেন।এই রাতকে লাইলাতুল বরাত বলা হয়।
হযরত সায়্যিদুনা আলীয়্যুন মুরতাদ্বা রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু তাআলা আনহু থেকে বর্নিত, নবী করিম রঊফুর রহিম সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর মহান বানী, যখন শাবানের ১৫তম রাতের আগমন ঘটে তখন তাতে কিয়াম (ইবাদত) করো আর দিনে রোযা রাখো । নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহ তাআলা সূর্যাস্তের পর থেকে প্রথম আসমানে বিশেষ তাজাল্লী বর্ষন করেন, এবং ইরশাদ করেনঃ কেউ আছ কি আমার নিকট ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা কারী? তাকে আমি ক্ষমা করে দিব ! কেউ আছ কি জীবিকা প্রার্থনাকারী? তাকে আমি জীবিকা দান করব ! কেউ কি আছ মুসিবতগ্রস্ত? তাকে আমি মুক্ত প্রদান করব! কেউ এমন আছ কি! কেউ এমন আছ কি! এভাবে সূর্য উদয় হওয়া পর্যন্ত আল্লাহ পাক তার বান্দাদেরকে ডাকতে থাকবেন ।
