It does read books (sometimes) but not if there are any pictures in them. It is very prone to freezing and crashing, sometimes mid sentence for no discernable reason. Their website said it would need Adobe Digital Editions, so I downloaded that and set it up. Digital Editions is only for computers. However, DE works better so maybe they should think of using it for book reading...

I've been an Android user for 6 years and I've never been so frustrasted with an app. Setup of app and download of my book were both a pain. The app is so slow to render pages it makes the travel guide I checked out worthless. It's constantly verifying my checkout, so I doubt I can use this without an internet connection. Great idea, terrible execution.

I'm a Librarian, and I love the idea behind Freading, but this app for Android is so majorly broken it actually throws into doubt whether the library should continue with Freading. My problems: 1) Requiring the use of this broken app in the first place. It used to be possible to open Freading files with whichever epub reader you wanted to. Just go back to that. 2) The apps override on PDF file associations. I can't clear the file association by clearing defaults. 3) Unable to save my library in the app

Worst app I've ever tried. I tried to download several books from my library and I wasn't able to read any of them. I was lucky if 3 random pages out of an entire book was visible. I deleted this garbage app right away. There isn't even an option to contact tech support.

I am amazed at the low ratings. Perhaps people are comparing it to Kindle. That is unfair. The only thing I really miss is the ability to sync across devices, other features, dictionary, etc. Would be nice but not critical. Better then adobe digital. I think the reviews must be for the earlier. Version.

I can't find a way to contact tech support to assist with a problem. It's not allowing me to log into my local library and there's no help, just a useless FAQ, which is I already read to realize that I needed to download the app at all. If I get a response and the problem is resolved, I may change my rating.
