APPOINTMENT

LingvoApp application is designed to read books-bilingual (parallel reading in two languages). Bilingual books are books that have bilingual text written in both the original language and the translation language. This kind of book exist for a long time and was originally a conventional paper books.

Opinions about the usefulness of reading books-bilingual are polar opposite. Is it possible to get rid of the negative aspects and leave only the positive features? Certainly! Moreover, the LingvoApp application based on the new method significantly increases the efficiency of parallel reading! The reader not only gets pleasure when reading the foreign literature, but also quickly and firmly increase their vocabulary and hone their ability to translate texts.

THE MAIN FUNCTIONALITY

- load books-bilingual from server storage (cloud);
- select any loaded book to read;
- translation of any word using online service (Yandex);
- browse to the selected word full dictionary entry, not just one translation of words and phrases;
- save any unknown word in the local database for later offline repetition;
- the use of the algorithm (method) of EBBINGHAUS to generate a list of words for daily recitation;
- quick selection of any of the 4 ways to position the text on the screen (in one column with alternating text in two languages; both text in two columns; select text only in the original language; select text only in the translation language);
- extremely user-friendly interface that minimizes the time spent on basic operations;

Here are the principles underlying the LingvoApp application:

1. using the context of the book as a source of sentences and phrases in a foreign language containing an unknown word. In fact, such a selection of sentences from the book plays the role of a dictionary and significantly increases the probability of correct translation of an unfamiliar word.

2. minimal use of native language during reading. Of course, the very possibility to view the text in your native language is left in the mobile application, but will be used in the last place - as a loophole for fans of the usual way of reading books-Bilingua.

3. the use of text in the language of translation (native language) exclusively for the formation of the context of the book in memory. The presence of the context of the book in the reader's memory significantly improves the skills of translation and understanding of foreign text.

4. Active, timely (on schedule!) and the repetition of unfamiliar words and phrases, not waiting for their appearance in the following books (lists of words generated by the algorithm of Ebbinghaus).

There are a lot of books in the LIngvoApp library that you can read without a subscription. But to read ALL books from the library you need to purchase a subscription. The functionality of the application does not depend on the availability of the subscription.
