LET US PRAY.
The Catholic Church have many prayers which are prayed individually or in group liturgies. Some prayers are also shared in common numerous groups of Christians, as is the case with the "Our Father" or "The Lord's Prayer."
Roman Catholic teachings on the subject of prayers are contained in the Catechism of the Church, where prayer is defined as the raising of one's mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God (St. John Damascene); or a surge of the heart with a simple look turned toward heaven crying for recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy (St. Thérèse of Lisieux).
Through prayer, one acknowledges God's power and goodness, and one's own neediness and dependence, implying the deepest reverence for God and habituating a person to look to Him for everything. Catholics say their prayers in communication with Gods, asking for blessing, adoration, petition, intercession or thanksgiving. 'Praise the Lord' or in Latin 'Laudate Dominum'.
