The only reason I tried this app is because their previous app (Insta-LINK) no longer works as of 5/24/2021. WaterLink Solutions HOME is horrible, especially compared to LaMotte's previous Insta-LINK app. I called LaMotte about the issue and they acted like they had never even heard of the Insta-LINK app. ..when "LaMotte" is written all over the strips and the app. After a while, their support team called me back to tell me that the Insta-LINK had been discontinued and they didn't know why it worked a week ago, but not now. Bottomline is they said that their new app, WaterLink Solutions HOME, would do what I needed it to do. ..and that is simply tell me accurate chem readings by scanning the test strips that I had purchased for this purpose. The AGONY continues: WaterLink requires users to create an account with full address and double-opt-in email verification. WHY?? Once you get past the infuriating registration process, it requires info about your pool and how many pools you are servicing. ..which seems awkward since this is the HOME version of the app, not the PRO version. Now we get to the testing part. Everytime you test, it requires you to choose from 3 testing options. Seems like that should be a setting that never changes.. But WORST OF ALL, it does not register any readings for the strips I submitted. 0ph? 0FCl? 0 everything.. This app is horrible. Especially when compared to their previous app. Why? Because what used to take 3 taps on my phone now takes 12 taps AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK!

Resulted showed up in the app, but then all the readings were lost after the test completed. Total waste of a test. A pencil and paper is more reliable.

All of La Motte software and apps are absolute garbage!!

The app works, but needs more work to be easier to use. For example, some parts of the app are greyed out making it look like those parts are disabled when in fact they should be completed for more accurate information. There is no documentation available on this app so some places where it asks for things are not clear, especially for someone who bought the ColorQ 2x to make all these pool readings and chemical recommendations easier. The documents in the ColorQ 2x don't include any information on this app, only that the unit has bluetooth. I only found out about it from a review, so more information would be helpful. Speaking of which, I've only tried it twice so far, but the recommendations I get from the app leave much to be desired. I wish it would tell me how much chlorine, acid, etc to add based on the readings and my specific pool info which I entered into the app. I bought the ColorQ 2x in the hopes that I wouldn't have to figure this out and it would tell me based on all the information it has. Bottom line, this app and system have a lot of potential, I hope Lamotte does more work to make this a much better app and system.

While the in app device drop down says "Color Q" the app doesn't support the regular Color Q. Only the new Bluetooth enabled Color Q 2X. Would be nice if the app can be used with the regular Color Q (non-bluetooth) to just manually enter the values.

Unless you have a unit with Bluetooth you can't simply enter you numbers and get feedback. Unfortunately I just bought the colorq pro 9.
