About this app

This festival is celebrated on shukla ekadashi of margshirsh month of Vikram samavat. This day Lord Krishna gave sermon of Gita to Arjun in Kurukshetra battlefield on first day of Mahabharat yudh.
That particular place where around 5154 years back Gita was delivered by Lord Krishna is known as ‘Jyotisar’ in Kurukshetra.
Kurukshetra development board (KDB) in association with various social and religious sansthan organises Gita Mohatsav every year in Kurukshetra. The celebration starts 10 days prior to ekadashi ( day of delivery of Gita sermon).
