There are two modes - even split and uneven split. In even split, you enter your pre-tax bill amount, your tax rate, and the number of people who are splitting the bill. The tip amounts for 15-20% are displayed as well any custom tip amount. In uneven split, you enter your pre-tax bill amount, your tax rate, and your tip rate. Then you enter what each person ordered to find out how much each person needs to pay. As you add more people, you can see the remaining total amount to be paid decrease.
