Can you all enable us to lower the drum volume? FUP: Ok, thx for the feedback. Awesome idea by the way. I've enjoyed playing with it. Please keep improving it. This one is a winner.

Excellent app so far. Every feature works as described, is very easy to use and will make practice much more enjoyable. Some additions I would really appreciate would be a setting to keep the screen on when using the app (without having to set screen timeout in Android settings), as the audio stops when locked, and maybe a semi-programmable bassline/chord progression. But thanks for the cool app!

I'm using a Moto G6 w/ Android 9, and so far I'm not impressed. Maybe it works for iPhone users, but you've got a long way to go before you get it tweaked right for us. I'm a stage and recording musician with 43 years experience, and the App's lag time is awful—almost a second from striking a chord to hearing it in the loop. After the first full playback of the loop I can sense it trying to sync up my part, but it's still way off. Proximity sensor mode doesn't work either. Please fix!

Fantastic idea in principle but needs a few tweaks before I could use it live safely. The half time feel 'B' has issues with the sound quality, but even worse is that I keep on activating it by mistake. It would be good if I could deactivate this function. The addition of the Cajon sounds is a great idea. I would like to know if anyone has used the app successfully with a Bluetooth midi footswitch.

Every beat I play the bass drum "clips" (meaning it buzzes like the speaker is too loud). I tried different volume settings. Nothing worked. I thought it was my phone. But it still made the clip thru an external speaker. Tried a different beat app....no clip....

So far I haven't had any issues with this App, good selection of drum loops available and the recording seems to be clean when used. My only thought is changing the tempo selection from a slider to up/down buttons instead? Purely as someone with chubby fingers haha

Beats and Loops - looper 1.1.1
2020-03-29 / 57 KB / Android 2.3+

About this app

Beats and Loops turns your phone into a looper and drum machine pedal.

Jam with guitar, bass or any other electric or acoustic instrument.

It works like a guitar pedal. You can control it by placing the phone on the floor and lightly swinging your foot above the screen - check the video!

Start and stop songs, trigger drum fills, switch song parts, and record loops. Hands-free.

LOOPER

• Record loops using just the phone microphone. It's dead simple - place your phone next to your instrument or amplifier, and start rocking. No cables or expensive gear required.

NOTE! To get acceptable sound quality you need to connect the phone to an external speaker, such as headphones, Bluetooth speaker or AUX input of an amplifier.

DRUM MACHINE

• You get all essential drumming styles in multiple variations, each with A and B parts, and unique fills.

• Trigger fills

• Adjust tempo

• Edit kick drum pattern

• The drum sounds are sampled using an awesome vintage Ludwig kit and are played back in uncompressed, multi-sampled 24bit quality.

• Natural sounding cajon kit for jamming in acoustic setting.

CHROMATIC TUNER

• "The best tuner I've ever used" - a random beta tester.

ADVANCED USE

• Record via external audio interfaces

• Control the app with MIDI

HOW TO USE THE APP IN PEDAL MODE

To use the app in pedal mode place the phone on the floor with the screen facing up. The top part of the screen starts blinking when the app is in pedal mode.

To "press" the pedal, lightly swing your foot a few inches above the top edge of the screen. You don't need to touch the phone.

The pedal functions differently depending on the app view and how long you press it.

In drummer mode, a short press starts the song or triggers a fill. You can switch between song parts by holding the pedal until the end of a measure. Double-press ends the song.

In looper mode, a short press starts or stops the recording. Long press starts overdubbing.

HOW TO USE FEEDBACK CANCELLATION

If you use the phone microphone to record you may notice the drum track leaking into loops.

To prevent feedback connect to external speaker, such as headphones, Bluetooth speaker or AUX input of your amplifier. If you are still getting feedback, enable feedback cancellation from the app settings.

The feedback cancellation requires calibration to work. The calibration is done by pressing the calibration button, either in settings or looper view. If you move the phone or adjust the playback volume you need to calibrate again.
