About this app

Lipa was born on August 22, 1995 in Westminster, London, daughter of ethnic Albanian parents. His father, Dukagjin Lipa, is a sales manager who has a side job as the main vocalist in a Kosovo rock band named Oda and his mother, Anesa Lipa (last name Rexha), is a tourism executive. His parents came from Kosovo who had left Pristina in 1992. Anesa was born to a Kosovo father and Bosnian mother while Dukagjin was the son of a historian, Seit Lipa, who was the leader of the Kosovo Institute of History from 1990-1995. In Kosovo his father studied to become a dentist and his mother became a lawyer. The sudden move to London stopped everything, and for a long time Lipa's parents worked as waitresses in cafes and bars. In the afternoon, his father took business lessons while his mother was retrained in travel and tourism. Lipa has two younger siblings, a younger sister named Rina and a younger brother named Gjin. He entered the Sylvia Young Theater School part-time [9] before moving to Kosovo with his family in 2006 when his father had graduated from school and was offered a job in Kosovo, where Lipa attended a private school called the Millennium i Tretë in Pristina. Lipa grew up listening to her father.
His first name means "love" in Albanian, which was the idea of ??his grandmother. Lipa explained "Now I am proud of my name. Now I am proud. But when I grew up all I wanted was to be called by the name Hannah, Sarah, Ella ... something normal. Because with Two you have to explain: I'm from Kosovo.
