إنه كلام الله فإذا كان الكلام يعظم بعظمة قائله فإن قائل القرآن الذي تكلم به هو الله جل جلاله سبحانه وتعالى ﴿ قُلْ لَئِنِ اجْتَمَعَتِ الْإِنْسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَى أَنْ يَأْتُوا بِمِثْلِ هَذَا الْقُرْآنِ لَا يَأْتُونَ بِمِثْلِهِ وَلَوْ كَانَ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ ظَهِيرًا ﴾[الإسراء: 88] ثم تحداهم بأقل من ذلك فقال ﴿ أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِعَشْرِ سُوَرٍ مِثْلِهِ مُفْتَرَيَاتٍ وَادْعُوا مَنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ﴾ [هود: 13] ثم تحداهم بأقل من ذلك فقال ﴿ وَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ فِي رَيْبٍ مِمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَى عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُوا بِسُورَةٍ مِنْ مِثْلِهِ وَادْعُوا شُهَدَاءَكُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ﴾ [البقرة: 23] ففي المرة الأولى تحداهم أَنْ يَأْتُوا ﴿ بِمِثْلِه ﴾ فلم يستطيعوا فتحداهم أن يأتوا ﴿ بِعَشْرِ سُوَرٍ مِثْلِهِ ﴾ فلم يستطيعوا فتحداهم أن يأتوا ﴿ بِسُورَةٍ مِنْ مِثْلِهِ ﴾ فلم يستطيعوا.
