good music player with customizable ui and music statistics, but the dominate ui notifications (uses the colors of album art) don't work, and cannot be read at all, requiring the usage of "nougat" style notifications, which get combined with other media sources on the device, which can get confusing, and do not get the benefit of the majority of customizations.

Seems to be largely unmaintained. Randomly lost access to the 2500 music files on my phone and no amount of tinkering could restore access. I switched to Musicolet and didn't look back.

👉JUST SWITCH to 'GoneMAD Music Player'. Despite the awful name, it's the best I've found in a sea of poor choices to getting close to the look, feel, and customisation of what BlackPlayer used to be. It's not *quite* there yet, but messing with the options will get you 90% of the same layout and look. And, it's updated properly, unlike this once great app 😒

They fixed it. It had issues with another update that happened in 2024 but it seems to be working again for me.

All of a sudden stopped playing music, only says error loading track. Says storage is empty, but I didn't change permissions or anything, other players can access the files. Had to reinstall, losing all configuration
