Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Wi-Drive. on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

The Wi-Drive hardware itself is excellent, however the application needs more features. For example, it doesn't even provide the option to create folders, select and copy multiple files at once and cannot be used to access and copy the files from the SD card to the Wi-Drive. The network options are pretty basic, but have everything needed to setup and use the Wi-Drive, which is excellent. The network config options work flawlessly and so should the app. The picture viewer and other options have flaws.

Just received my Wi-Drive. Can connect to Wi-Drive itself without issues. Play movies and music perfectly. When I try to use the Wi-Drive app to reconnect to my wifi network, I get an error and ultimately lose my connection to Wi-Drive (but can use my home wifi connection). Hoping this is just a bug. Please let me know if anyone has a fix. UPDATE: Make sure you visit the Kingston website and download the updated for the device itself (not the firmware update option in the APP). This fixed my issue. Updated to 5 stars.

I love the apps capabilities, and what it and the hardware (Wi-Drive) have to offer. I just wish that it could get updated to fix some bugs that have been persistent, like crashing upon launching it, and sometimes freezing during video playback. Thx for your hard work!

Love the app and with drive. Only thing I wish is to add option to choose what player you want to use from settings since android media player doesn't support many types of files such as avi

The app crashes as soon as I try to connect to the Wi-Drive on both my phone and tablet. Just a massive waste of money and really disappointing for me. It's been weeks and still no word on if a fix will even be made available.

I got the wi drive and love it. I recommend it constantly. That said, app needs some work. Personally hate the dark theme. The other issue comes from the app never properly closing, this is great while you are using the drive, but if you disconnect and try to reconnect, it will search for the drive until the end of time. We need a refresh our exit button. Right now I have to go app management and force close. And please stop handling files. Let other apps do it.
