She was born on October 24, 1986 in Go Cong, Tien Giang, in a family of Chinese descent. When she was in Grade 6, her family struggled to make a living selling her home to pay off her debts. Her mother was forced to replace her father as the breadwinner and she had to follow her mother-in-law.
