About this app

African Legacy is a mobile application that features short chronicles of past African leaders, activist, and progressive thinkers that contributed to the development of the continent. This is by no means an exhaustive list of individuals that made contributions that shaped the course of history in Africa. Updates will be made on a bi-monthly basis as we add more individuals and categories to the database from countries across the continent. The database provides credible links to additional resources for those interested in pursuing research beyond the content of the application.

Also available in French and Swahili. Your device's language and input setting must be set to use French and Swahili if that is the local language.
