This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing MusicBee Remote on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

I installed this app and enabled Wi-Fi on the same network where musicbee was running and it was unable to recognize the server. I even tried to give it the IP address of the machine and it still did not recognize it. I guess it doesn't work anymore?

Very awesome to have a useful and handy remote for my MusicBee library! Once I installed the service for the MusicBee pc app, the rest of the setup was a breeze.

Outstanding, especially considering this is developed as a personal project. MusicBee itself is the best media library and player for Windows, and using this remote app your phone becomes your stereo remote control if you wish to use your PC as your stereo, whether playing from your own digital archives or selecting between internet radio streams and podcasts etc. I'd take this combo over Apple's solutions any day.

Wow I can't believe this got an update. I know for years Mike was at the helm. But thought it was abandon. Nice to see. I don't know why ppl walked away from Music bee. Its still solid. Simple, easy but cool. And ppl keep adding to the milk drop which makes it trippy dead head cool.. Thanks & keep it up.

Hi my Android S10 Plus has worked with musicbee remote app for a long time until the app was updated. Since the recent update, my Android musicbee remote app can not find a connection on my Windows 10 PC. I guess I will need to troubleshoot to see what went wrong. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it to see if it would find the server but no go. I will restart my PC and see if that works. Anyway thanks a lot for offering this free app yasu & t kanis to the Greeks out there.

MusicBee Remote is an application that allows you to remotely control MusicBee using your Android device.

It is a third party application and thus it is not affiliated in any way with MusicBee or Steven Mayall.

Jordan Georgiadis is responsible for the logo concept.
Tasos Papazoglou - Chalikias is responsible for further refining the logo, creating the promotional graphics and designing a major part of the UI and assets.

The latest plugin requires at least MusicBee v3.0 to function.

MusicBee Remote requires a device running at least Android v4.1 along with a wireless network connection in order to function.

-Basic player control. (play, pause, stop, next, previous, volume change, mute, shuffle, repeat)
-Last.fm account scrobbling on/off.
-Last.fm love/ban.
-5 star rating.
-Playback progress display and control.
-Lyrics support.
-Now playing list display, along with the ability to choose a track to play, search for a track to play, remove a track from the now playing list, or reorder the tracks.
-Library browsing support with the ability to enqueue, or play the tracks.
-Basic playlist support (list and press to play)
-Option to reduce the volume, pause/stop playback on incoming call.
-Lockscreen controls on devices running Android 4.0 or greater
-Headset controls on devices running Android 4.0 or greater
-Volume control using the hardware buttons.

New features

- Adds statistics dialog when you can check how many tracks, etc are currently synced.
- Improves visual feedback when performing a library metadata sync.
- Adds a feedback message when queueing tracks/albums/genres/artists.
- Adds the ability to queue the album or artist when browsing the track list.
- Fixes a bug that would prevent users from queueing albums when browsing an artist's albums.
