About this app
Social Distancing App will calculate approximate distance between App users. To calculate social distance, nearby users should run this App or have a bluetooth enabled device in discoverable mode.
Contact History displays all the users that were within 6 feet distance.
By default, Notifications alerts are sent every 30 seconds. Users will be alerted by a notification message with a beep and vibration. However, if the device is set to silent mode, this App will not beep or vibrate. Also, notification settings will control the alerts from this App.
Login: Users do not need to create an account to use the App. So, Users will remain Anonymous.
Data usage: This App does not use data from user's mobile data plan. This App only requires Bluetooth and Location Services to run. This App will work even if there is no Mobile Data or Wifi. This App will work in an Airplane as well in Airplane mode.
Permissions: This App requests permissions for enabling Bluetooth and Location Services. Both services are mandatory for this App to function correctly. If user does not grant permission(s), then this App will close.

This App has 4 social distancing signs:
1. Black sign: This sign is displayed when the App is searching for nearby users. App will search for nearby users when "Start" button is clicked or when a new nearby user search is performed.
There are four options for the frequency of scanning.
(i) 5 seconds: This scan option could be used when users are standing in a queue as the distance between users changes rapidly and instantaneously.
(ii) 10 seconds: This scan option could be used when users are in a crowded area as users may be moving in and out of social distance of 6 feet frequently.
(iii) 20 seconds: This scan option could be used when users are not in a crowded areas, however would like to be alerted if any user is within 6 feet distance.
(iv) 30 seconds: This scan option is the least frequent option, could be used when users are not in a crowded areas, however would like to be alerted if any user is within 6 feet distance.
2. Yellow sign: This sign is displayed when the App detects a user within a 6 feet distance. A message that "A user is within 6 feet distance, please keep a safe distance" will be displayed.
3. Red sign: This sign is displayed when the App detects more than one user within a 6 feet distance. A message that "More than one user is within 6 feet distance, please keep a safe distance" will be displayed.
4. Green sign: This sign is displayed when the App detects one or more users and they are all more than 6 feet away. A message that "You are at a safe distance, no one is within 6 feet distance" will be displayed.
Also, below the signs and messages, all users within 6 feet distance are displayed. A sample message "A user with a smartphone is about 2 feet away" is displayed.
This App has six menu options:
1. About - Gives details about the App and features
2. Contact History - History of the contacts
3. Find All Bluetooth Devices - Access this menu to find all nearby bluetooth devices in discoverable mode irrespective of the distance.
4. Preferences - Access this menu to change user preferences. The user preferences are saved and retrieved for future use by the App.
5. Privacy Policy - Please access the Privacy Policy menu to review and accept the policies.
6. Share - Enable users to share this App with Family / Friends / Colleagues using WhatsApp or other applications.
