Entirely unresponsive. Kanpoy works great on my computer only. Great selection of documentaries and educational shows. Highly recommend there. POS app that is unresponsive in landscape mode.

WARNING! THIS APP MAY BE A TRAP. THINKING IT WAS THE ONE MY LIBRARY RECOMMENDED, I INSTALLED IT AND IT IMMEDIATELY FROZE UP MY ANDROID PHONE. AND WHEN I RESTARTED MY PHONE TO GET IT TO WORK I HAD A LOCKED UP SYMBOL. I HAD TO USE MY PATTERN AND ALSO MY FINGERPRINT TO UNLOCK THE PHONE! BEFORE THAT HAPPENED, THE SUPPOSED HOMEPAGE OF CANOPY STUCK ON LANDSCAPE AND WOULD NOT RESPOND. BE CAREFUL, PEOPLE. THERE ARE TWO OF THESE AND THIS IS NOT THE ONE YOU WANT. CHOOSE THE ONE THAT HAS MORE REVIEWS.

Stars for the idea, would be 5 if it worked. This app is totally unresponsive on my phone (pixel 3) and won't load to my tv at all.

The app seems to be full of bugs. For example, I have roughly 90 items in my Watchlist, which I created on my PC. However, on my Android TV, only 3 items appear in my Watchlist, and only a very small number of films appear when I browse or search for content on the Android TV. The app is linked to my account and shows my memberships, and my memberships include unlimited access, but very little of the content that I am supposed to be able to view is actually accessible. Even on my PC, sometimes I am able to add films to my Watchlist and sometimes the button for adding something to my Watchlist never appears on any of the Web pages. Sometimes almost nothing appears when browsing or searching. The entire system seems to be very buggy and unreliable. It's a shame, because (in theory) there are some great films and series in the Kanopy collection, but most of it is inaccessible to me.

At the moment i cant even use this app... It obviously has a big problem right now that the IT folks need to sort out... Used to work fine for my local Washington State library system in Thurston County... Now I upload it and it's frozen on the opening page and wont respond at all to any finger swipe,and doesn't rotate as I move my phone....Hello??? Anyone? (This has been an issue for weeks...any self-respecting company would've seen to this by now.....)

The public library offers 6 free "plays" on Kanopy, but the app is terrible on my Roku. It forces me to watch a movie without any interruptions, because any attempt to pause or rewind makes this app crash, and lose my play token. The interface is very frustrating: there's no sort or filter, there are only pre-defined categories, and scrolling has a lag (I have 75 Mbps downstream speed, and no other devices connected, so my connection is not the problem. Other apps work flawlessly) without any indication such as a wheel spinning that it has not reached the end of the list. In summary, this app is buggy and can't perform even the most basic functionality. Hoopla is way better, also free via the library.
