I have a question regarding the digital subscription. It works fine on my android phone, although the screen is a little small. However, the digital subscription does not appear to work via the google play i digital app, without a printed i subscription (which kind of defeats the object). Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but it doesn't appear to work. The login asks for my email and subscriber id, which I dont have (just a password). Any ideas? Thanks.

The app just doesn't work as I expected or hoped. For a digital subscription, I'd expected the news feed (Latest News) to include everything that is in the printed edition, if not more. But it's the other way round. So to browse through all news stories, you have to open the digital copy of the printed newspaper and scroll around the page. Not great on a mobile phone. The news feed should show everything, in real time as it's written / published.

Needs Better Navigation, Breadcrumbs, Links, Dates and Search. When you are reading an article, there is no indication of which section it is in, what date it was posted, or, at the end, that the article has ended. If you follow any link, it takes you out of the app and into the web page. There is a limited navigation. It desperately needs the sections that the web page offers when you drop down on the news navigation. There is no search facility.

Have just downloaded this app after an email asking me to do so from The i. Not used the new features over the previous app yet. But as another reviewer says, when you zoom in to the digital version of the physical paper the text is unreadable. As it is unreadable on a phone before zooming this is pointless. Please fix this and then it may be an improvement on the old one. At the moment it is a step backwards.

Great paper and am happy with the app in the main. Having previously subscribed to the digital daily edition my only complaint is that the paper option, and edition, is not as good as the experience in the digital edition. One level of zoom makes the text unreadable whereas this does not happen with the digital edition version and I can read the daily newspaper in that app and zoom in a few levels. This app would be perfect if that experience could be made the same and would be 5 star then.
