About this app

Dewa 19 adalah sebuah grup musik yang dibentuk pada tahun 1986 di Surabaya, Indonesia. Grup ini telah beberapa kali mengalami pergantian personel dan formasi terakhirnya sebelum dibubarkan pada tahun 2011 adalah Ahmad Dhani (kibor), Andra Junaidi (gitar), Once Mekel (vokal), Yuke Sampurna (bass) dan Agung Yudha (drum). Setelah merajai panggung-panggung festival di akhir era 1980-an, Dewa 19 kemudian hijrah ke Jakarta dan merilis album pertamanya pada tahun 1992 di bawah label Team Records.[1]

Grup ini telah meraih keuntungan sepanjang dekade 1990-an dan 2000-an melalui serangkaian lagu-lagu bergenre rock dan pop. Album yang mereka rilis nyaris selalu mendapat sambutan bagus di pasaran, bahkan album mereka yang dirilis tahun 2000, Bintang Lima, merupakan salah satu album terlaris di Indonesia dengan penjualan hampir 2 juta keping.[2][3][4] Pada tahun 2005, majalah Hai menobatkan Dewa 19 sebagai band terkaya di Indonesia dengan pendapatan mencapai lebih dari 14 miliar setahun.[5] Di tengah kesuksesan yang diraihnya, grup ini sempat beberapa kali tersandung masalah hukum, termasuk masalah pelanggaran hak cipta dan perseteruan dengan ormas Islam.[6][7]

Sepanjang perjalanan kariernya, Dewa 19 telah menerima banyak penghargaan, baik BASF Awards maupun AMI Awards.[8] Mereka juga pernah meraih penghargaan LibForAll Award di Amerika Serikat atas kontribusi mereka pada upaya perdamaian dan toleransi beragama.[9][10] Pada tahun 2008, Dewa 19 masuk ke dalam daftar "The Immortals: 25 Artis Indonesia Terbesar Sepanjang Masa" oleh majalah Rolling Stone. Dewa diakui sebagai salah satu legenda atau ikon terbesar dalam sejarah musik populer Indonesia.
