The app is fine, however I am appalled at the lack of capitalization for the Lord. I have an older hardcopy right here in which those capitals exist. "The Lord" in the OT is a sub for Yahweh. To not capitalize it is grammatically wrong when it's a NAME. What's next--"jesus"? Seriously just lost so much respect for the NLT.

UPDATED REVIEW. FEB 2020 This app inludes the original 1996 version, plus the 2004 version. When you press play to listen, the screen automatically scolls along so you can follow along hands free. If you buy the add free version, be sure to uninstall the free version. I had some problems with adds appearing when both the free & paid versions were on my tablet. You can download this version, and then pretty much do what you want with it. Put a copy on your PC, burn it to a CD, DVD. Great App!

Easy to use. Simple English for easy understanding. Adding commentaries and dictionaries will be very good

Audio does not work. Not responding. Now they want access to my phone. When I first download it years ago they didn't ask or I decline and it was working fine. I finally gave in and gave them access which I don't understand why they need it since I'm not going to use my photo gallery or any other app on my phone to send them anything, nor do I want them to send anything, after giving in, it still doesn't work. This use to be my favorite audio NLT Bible app and they ruin it for me.

I downloaded the New Living Translation bible and was distracted by the annoying ads flashing at the bottom of the page. So I clicked on the ad free version and paid the requested amount. I went back into the bible and, lo and behold, the ads were still there! When can I expect to get the ad free version to kick in??

I like that it doesn't have a robot voice & he reads the text as is. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't continue to read. My goal is to listen while I sleep but it stops after 1 chapter. Please make it possible to continue to read until I say stop.

The New Living Translation was founded on the most recent scholarship in the theory of translation, with the goal of communicating the meaning of the ancient Bible texts as accurately as possible to the modern reader.

It seeks to preserve the freshness and readability of the original paraphrase while providing the accuracy and reliability of a translation prepared by a team of 90 biblical scholars.

Quality of Translation:

The translators took on the challenge of producing a text that would have the same impact in the life of today's readers as the original text had for the original readers. The method employed to reach this goal in the New Living Translation, was to translate entire thoughts (instead of just words) into natural, everyday English. Therefore the NLT is a thought for thought, rather than word for word (literal) translation. As a result, it is easy to read and understand, while correctly conveying the original meaning of text.
