About this app

Reggae has become one of the most popular and influential genres of music today. While some appreciate Reggaes message of social change and poetic meditations on spiritual and religious themes, others are drawn to its religious theme of Rastafari and its endorsement of marijuana use which we condemn.

The word Reggae came from a Spanish term “the king’s music”. The word Reggae was actually derived from the Latin word regi, which means “to the king”. And to the king indeed, KING JESUS. Jah Roots began as a one hour reggae show launched on July 3, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico on KLYT Static Radio 88.3FM. It was the first Gospel Reggae Show to air in the U.S. on FM radio. But even from its beginning the God given vision was to go far and wide, no longer to remain a one hour show but to become its own radio station. Jah Roots Radio is a Christ-centered, drug free, family oriented radio station created to provide a media broadcasting platform for Reggae music with a Biblical Christian World view that glorifies Jesus Christ as Lord.

Though you will find our music and programming both enjoyable and stimulating, we do NOT exist for the purpose of entertainment. We exist to encourage, enlighten and influence our listening audience of believers and unbelievers alike with the gospel message of repentance, salvation and worship of the true and living God, Jesus Christ.
