Syekh Nawawi adalah sosok nama yang sudah tidak asing lagi kita dengar terutama umat islam di seluruh Indonesia. Melalui karya-karyanya yang tersebar di pesantren-pesantren tradisional yang sampai sekarang masih banyak dikaji, nama Kiai asal Banten ini seakan masih hidup dan terus menyertai umat memberikan wejangan ajaran Islam yang menyejukkan.

Di setiap majlis ta’lim karyanya selalu dijadikan rujukan utama dalam berbagai ilmu; dari ilmu tauhid, fiqh, tasawuf sampai tafsir. Karya-karyanya sangat berjasa dalam mengarahkan mainstream keilmuan yang dikembangkan di lembaga-Iembaga pesantren yang berada di bawah naungan Nahdhatul Ulama’.
