About this app

Founded in 1989, Aquatic Mammals Foundation (AMF) is a non-profit civil society organization, whose mission is to promote the conservation of aquatic mammals and their habitats, targeting the environmental balance. With a national presence, AMF is recognized as a leading research, defense, preservation and conservation institution of the environment and it promotes sustainable development.

To bring people from this relentless mission to promote conservation of marine animals and their habitats and aiming at environmental sustainability, we present the BIOTA FMA app. To use it, you simply need to have a mobile device running Android and connected to the internet, follow the instructions to access it, then you'll be able to help in marine conservation!

From anywhere in the world, whenever you use the BIOTA FMA, you’ll be able to include information on identifying the animal found (always in areas of the aquatic environment) in the form field and even take and include photos to enhance the description of the event - whether the animal is stranded on the beach or river, alive or not. This information will be used in the AMF reports and surveys. Remember: FMA's team will not act promptly to occurrences. The app is just for research and conservation purposes.

So, when making this record, your information will be sent straight to the database of the AMF and its staff will be responsible for evaluating and validating it. For every correct data, you will score points and they are cumulative to be exchanged for gifts. Access the app terms of use and meet their conditions!

This application was developed in partnership with Hyla Mobi (www.hylamobi.com).

See how important your participation is? By using the BIOTA FMA, you will help the Foundation with essential data for conservation and research of aquatic animals and their habitats!
