Very cool concept and it works great! I'm curious about how many different nations are linked together through this app, it's awesome to hear people's music taste from across the world.

Great idea! There is an issue when selecting a song, it doesnt play that song. Its just a random song from that artist or a similar genre. Usually it requires multiple times to click on the play button and hear the song or sometimes only one second is being played. You might need to make some minor ui changes, sometimes i dont know where to click next. I hope you can fix this!

Just got to know about this excellent social music discovery app from a friend and I'm already hooked!!! Everything about this app is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I'd say my favorite feature would be sending recommendations to your friends directly through a super intuitive dm like interface- absolutely love it.

What better way than to bond over good music and similar music tastes ? I've been using the beta version for a long time and I've been impressed with the algorithms and it's compatibility with Spotify. Overall a top notch app that is unique its own way.

Nice app, loved the concept. Also try to integrate it with YouTube music too and perhaps give option to choose between yt music and Spotify.

About this app

humit is a social networking app for music sharing and discovery. The app lets you share 30s audio snippets of powerful moments from your favorite songs AKA “hums”. These hums can then be conveniently sampled by your followers in an endless feed of fresh new music.

Let’s face it, music sharing on mobile is broken — sharing a URL through Facebook/ Messenger/ Instagram Stories/ WhatsApp means jumping between apps, and there's often no feedback on whether someone liked the song or not. On the other hand, algorithmic recommendations go no further than saying “here’s another song that sounds extremely similar to the one you just listened to”.

humit is here to fix all of that...

Some of the latest features include 🤘
1. Reel mode 🎉: with options to like, bookmark, extend hum, toggle auto-play, reply and recommend
2. Media 👾: apart from album art/ photos, you can now add GIFs to all your hums
3. Real-time messaging 💬: now you can reply to hums and chat about anything music with your friends on humit
4. Recommend hums 💪: share your favorite hums with your followers 1:1
5. Stations 📻: moderated communities around genres, moods and themes. From #Party_Music, #TheBeatlesFC to #Space_Rap, you can find crowdsourced recommendations on virtually any kind of music. The sky’s not the limit here
6. Profile 🙋🏻‍♂️: flaunt your taste in music based on your Spotify listening history, top artists and hums
7. Referral 👫: you can now start inviting your friends over to check out humit with an invite code unique to you

With so many music libraries and messaging options available, sharing music is far more complicated than it should be. While music libraries are great to listen to, they lack compelling social features. Social networks are good for sharing, but provide a mediocre listening experience. Humit provides a music-specific platform to seamlessly discover and listen to music from friends in one place, agnostic of your steaming platform of choice.

P.S. The release is currently limited to Spotify users. Apple Music and SoundCloud integrations are in the works.
