Cool app for sure just not for me...I wish it had more critiria so that I could show more of the personality/relationships/appearance of my charectors. Also, I might be totally off as I didn't keep the app for long, but maybe there isn't room to create more than one protagonists and antagonists in detail?? Call me out if I'm wrong!

This app is not very good in telling the traits of your characters. For example, it called my introverted character with social anxiety and selective mutism "open and interactive with his surroundings," which doesn't fit at all. Interesting concept, but in my opinion, it heavily needs improvement. Also, you're not likely to become a good writer if you can't develop your characters yourself, although this app, if it worked properly, could help you tidy up your thoughts.

I like it it's ok but can be confusing because your definitions of Personality traits differ greatly from most of the research I did online while using this app, and the limited choices of picking either or despite the fact that either the character may not fit into those traits or may need more options or simply the option to choose neither. It needs work but other than that it's not bad I will give 5 stars if this is improved thank you.

I was having some troubles with my character's identification but this app helped me a lot. For those of you who're complaining about the saved slots, you can find the file in your phone depending. If you're using Es file, much easier to find. I can complete my characters useless behaviour thanks to this app. Keep up the great work and loving the blog also.

Overall, I'd say that someone could probably pull something from this app. I however, couldn't. I feel like the app does try to distinguish characters, but it's too broad. Even though I had around 7 different traits between my characters, it gave them the same exact profile. It needs some fine tuning.

Finally! A writing app that isn't just a glorified database. This helps tap into what makes characters tick, and is in line with current thinking about how to write. Don't forget the companion app, Narrative Nods.

About this app

Character Nods is an app that helps fiction authors develop complex, realistic characters for their novels. The app takes into consideration a vast number of variables to analyze your characters and guide you to improving them.

The focus of Character Nods is on your protagonist and your antagonist. They are by far the most important characters of your book, and it's them you should make sure to develop properly. The reason? The interaction between protagonist and antagonist is what creates the narrative tension of your story, an absolutely critical aspect of story-telling.

Is the protagonist a thinker or a do-er? Is the antagonist driven by material possessions or personal achievements? And how do their personality traits affect the area of conflict between them?

Analyzing key personality traits, Character Nods creates a complex, analytic report of the protagonist and the antagonist of your novel, detecting problem areas and, more importantly, offering suggestions.

The developer is a published author with a PhD in English literature.

New features

* The report now displays charts with protagonist and antagonist attributes, for easier visualization of key character traits.
* Minor tweaks
