Good app. The only thing they could improve is to eliminate the need to log-in every time. Or at least the credentials should be pre-filled. Also the online chat worked and I got answer to my questions from a real person who seemed to understand the tool.

Developer should add a TEST button for the Remote-check! I waited for the first check, and when it came my phone gave me an error msg that the GPS isnt turned on, however it was!

About this app

The Home Quarantine System (HQR) is a smartphone application that allows authorities to continuously monitor the health status of patients placed in home quarantine and their compliance with quarantine rules without personal contact.

The authorities home quarantine people who have recently returned home from abroad, are confirmed to be infected by COVID-19 and show mild symptoms or were in contact with a COVID-19 infected person. The purpose of the Home Quarantine System (HQS) is aimed at relieving the burden on health care and law enforcement agencies by facilitating the monitoring of people in official home quarantine. The system also provides health care systems with the opportunity to monitor the condition of patients.

Quarantine compliance is verified by a mandatory time-logged check-in request to the user sent automatically by the system via SMS at random timing. The check-in process is simple: the identity and location data are automatically verified using face recognition and location data derived from the mobile device.

Overview of the remote check-in process

The quarantined person receives an sms notification of the check-in request at random time intervals during the day. Check-ins are to be performed within 15 minutes of the receipt of the request.

The check-in starts by the user opening the application on their mobile phone. The app launches the camera of the device.

The application takes pictures of the user and verifies the user’s identity with automatic face recognition based on the picture submitted during registration.

The application retrieves the device location data and all check-in information are sent to the operator panel where the administrator monitors the logins.

If there is an identity or location mismatch, the system automatically sends an alert to the operator who may manually check the login.

The application also sends a short health assessment questionnaire to the user three times a day. The purpose of the questionnaires is to provide continuously updated information on the patient's medical condition to their GP and to aggregate the data to make short term predictions anonymously on future workload of medical facilities imposed by Covid-19 patients with worsening conditions.
