Complete Prayer Tutorial - The Character of the Prayer of the Prophet Is Completely Picture Free

The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said,

ﺻَﻠُّﻮﺍ ﻛَﻤَﺎ ﺭَﺃَﻳﺘُﻤُﻨِﻲ ﺃُﺻَﻠِّﻲ

"Pray for you as you see me praying." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari no. 628, 7246 and Muslim no. 1533)

Understanding Prayers
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen

1. Prayer is the second pillar of Islam. Prayer is harmonious which is most emphasized after the two sentences of creed 2. Prayer is a means of communication between a servant and his Rabb. The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:

Indeed, if one of them performs the prayer, then he is in a whisper (whispering) to his Lord (Narrated by Al-Bukhari, Book of Mawâqîtus Shalât)

3. Prayer is a garden of various worship. Inside the garden there are beautiful pairs of plants (beautiful dhikr)
Prayer can help people who carry it out in reaching important matters and can prevent them from vile and evil deeds. Allah Azza wa Jalla said:

4. Make patience and pray as your helper. and indeed this is really hard, except for those who are devoted, [Al-Baqarah / 2: 45]

Also His Word:

Read what was revealed to you from al-Kitâb and establish prayer. Indeed the prayer can prohibit evil and evil deeds. [Al-‘Ankabût / 29: 45]

5. Prayer is the light in the hearts of the believers and also the light when humans are gathered on the Day of Judgment to account for their charity. The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:

Prayer is light. [HR. Muslim]
The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam also said:

Whoever keeps his prayer, then the prayer will be a light, proof and salvation for him on the Day of Judgment. [HR. Ahmad in the book Musnad, 2/169]

6. Prayer is the (source of) happiness of the souls of the Believers and their conditioning (source of calm). The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:
جُعِلَتْ قُرُّةُ عَيْنِيْ فِى الصَّلاَةِ

Airconditioning my eyes (calming my heart) is in prayer [HR. Ahmad in the book Musnad, 3/199]
