About this app

A cellular automaton consists of a grid of cells, each in one of a finite number of states.

For each cell, a set of cells called its neighborhood is defined.

A new generation is created, according to some fixed rule - a mathematical function that determines the new state of each cell.

AutoMata is modified so you can change a state of an cell by touching it.

You can also change the rule function by tilting your device in any direction.

Cell's state is expressed as its color.

Touch your device's screen, tilt your device in all directions and watch.
