Mede aangespoord door de overheid, om lokale media-instellingen te laten samengaan in een zogenaamd Regionaal Media Centrum (RMC) hebben de Noord- en Zuid Oost Groninger lokale omroepen in mei 2015 een intentieverklaring ondertekend om te komen tot het

RMC GRONINGEN 1 (G1).

Het RMC G1 stelt zich ten doel een volwaardige invulling te geven aan de derde publieke omroeplaag. Onze missie: elke burger in Groningen heeft recht op lokaal nieuws en informatie van een goede journalistieke kwaliteit, iedere dag, en via alle belangrijke platforms: radio, tv, internet, mobiele apps, etc etc.

Deze ambitie kunnen we verwezenlijken als we er voor zorgen dat we samen een gezonde innovatieve omroepsector opbouwen. Dit jaar starten een aantal activiteiten en projecten die de samenwerking zullen versterken en het media-aanbod van meer kwaliteit zullen voorzien.

Voorbeelden zijn:
Bestuurlijk overleg, redactionele samenwerking, gezamenlijke PR en communicatie, gezamenlijke vormgeving etc.
