Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing GATE:VET on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

About this app

The GATE:VET app assists teachers who want to implement Game-Based Learning (GBL) in class. Use the convenient micro-learning units to expand your knowledge on gamification and GBL. Find a lot of fun game ideas for your lessons.

Our app was developed as part of an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project called GATE:VET. This project builds on the findings of another project (STEAM: Serious game to Train Experts in Advanced Multimodality), which found that teachers are often aware of the positive effects of GBL but only few of them know in detail how the actual implementation can take place.

The aim of GATE:VET is therefore to expand the methodological repertoire of teachers by giving them the opportunity to enrich their classes with educational games. The gamification of teaching content and the concepts behind it will help to improve the learning success of the students. By enhancing the learning experience, positive emotions are supposed to be stimulated and made beneficial for the learning process. Learning should be fun and the use of games in class easy. Try the app and find out for yourself!
